Market access Program

The livelihoods of the poor often depend on selling the product of their labor, and inequality of access to markets is often a factor causing poverty. The market access program therefore aims at developing the business and organization capacities of groups of small-scale producers to access both local and international market on beneficial terms. Our emphasis is fair trade because it holds the answer to our poverty reduction efforts.

Business Development Program

TRADE AID is dedicated to providing leadership in fostering the growth and development of small businesses. This is because our conviction in the power of the entrepreneur in creating worth. The goal of the Business Development Program is to assist start-ups and strengthen existing business entities through high quality, low cost counseling, and high quality, affordable training programs. The unit provides counseling and training in a number of areas such as:
  • Business Start-Ups
  • Business Plan Development
  • Marketing
  • Accounting and record keeping
  • Loan application
  • Business Registration

Financial Services Program

One area that has hindered development greatly is the issue of finance. The vast majority of rural population in Ghana has no access to credit and other financial services. This situation has worsen with the increasingly reliance on the market mechanism. This thus calls for the creation of sustainable mechanisms for financial services to rural communities if indeed we are to pursue genuinely the agenda of rural development.
